"I remember growing up in southern California with my mom and dad. She'd be off at work while dad was rehearsing with some version of The Tokens in our living room. I'd get home from school and listen to them practice. One day I noticed the window was smashed on our 1980 Honda Accord, The Beige Rage. I rushed in to tell my father and when he came out to the car he noticed his box of demo tapes were stolen. Few incidences have lurked as a painful memory as much as that so it gives me a major thrill to release these songs that have been "in the can" for so long. Literally, the original tapes may have wound up in a dumpster somewhere in Los Angeles. But here are some of those original gems, rescued from whatever remaining cassettes or reel-to-reels still linger. I have done my best to remove tape hiss and noise without compromising overall frequency range. May the magic of my father's songwriting fill your heart with wonder. Personally I cannot listen to these songs without crying. Happy Holidays!"
