简介
Undercurrent leaders Tristan Thomas and Paul Krause created Undercurrent in 2003 with a hard rock edge band in mind that became a reflection of emotions and reaction to Post 9-11 events including the Iraqi Desert Storm War. This sonic journey originated in the studios of Hollywood's esteemed Musicians Institute. The band teamed up with local talent from the San Fernando Valley with the album concept in mind right from the very first note. The band then partnered up with the brilliant production legend John Stronach(REO Speedwagon) and engineer virtuoso and Grammy award winner Matty Spindel(Santana and Motley Crue) who listened to the bands somewhat classic rock meets new rock style and amplified "Chairman of the Bored" into the hard rock genre. "John Stronach has killer perception-he knows what works right away from the very first note-the experience was humbling and priceless at the same time" Krause shared with band mates after the album was pressed. "(John)Stonach and (Matty)Spindel used to work productions together and created some of the most legendary sounds still being played on the radio today-their signature sound is all over this album and sizzles because they know how to make music happen" Thomas noted. "Krause plays these solos that blend vibes; like (Steve)Vai with Santana. It is a great album.." James Musser a master fusion guitarist having played with virtuoso musicians Virgil Donati, Ric Fierabracci, and Joe Zawinul spoke of the "Chairman..." album at the record release party in Hollywood in December 2003. Fans of Nickelback, Alter Bridge, 3 Doors Down, Shinedown, Steve Vai, or Joe Satriani, should dig this album. The album was recorded at The Back Room studios and Richie Kotzen's Headroom Studio in the summer of 2003. Mixing was completed at the famed Village in West LA.
