简介
Called "Brilliantly Brooklyn" The Bergamot delivers it's fourth studio record titled "Tones". “Tones” refers to the auditory pollution we currently live in. Life is full of “Tones”. We live in a space now where our life decisions are based around cell phone rings, alarm clocks, hand watches, technology, computers, etc. Typically when we think of pollution, we think of smog and other aspects – which are very visual, but I believe in auditory pollution as well. It is the pollution of sound that makes us unable to feel, hear, sense. Tones clog up minds and ears and make our awareness drop. The whole concept is a derivative of the idea of auditory pollution. Winners of the 2012 Bud Light Battle of the Bands, Brooklyn based husband wife duo Jillian Speece and Nathaniel Paul Hoff are the songwriters behind this vibrant indie folk-rock sound. The Bergamot’s uplifting songs are powered by unbreakable harmonies with seamless songwriting adeptness that combines a story of both the joys and heartaches of life. Jillian and Nathaniel met in high school in their hometown of South Bend, Indiana in 2003; they have since released three albums and toured extensively across North America and Europe. Drawing upon influences such as Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, The Dave Matthews Band and Bob Dylan. The Bergamot writes songs that are uplifting, catchy, and enchanting. Jillian’s velvety alto voice blends seamlessly with Nathaniel’s ethereal vocals creating dynamic harmonies that are apart of their signature sound. Speece and Hoff have an amazing gift for writing poignant songs based upon personal experiences with a relatable and emotional immediacy. They’re performances are high energy, infectious, and have turned first-time listeners into instant fans. The Bergamot bridges the gap between artist and audience by engaging them on a personal level though-out the performance. They have opened up for artist such as All American Rejects, Young The Giant and Wiz Kalifa. The Bergamot has performed at SXSW, Taste of Chicago, The Traverse City Film Festival, and Bud Lights Port Paradise Music Festival located in the Bahamas. The Bergamot has been featured in Icon Magazine, BuzzFeed, The Chicago Tribune, CMJ, Skope Magazine, WGN Chicago, CBS, HGTV and NPR. The Bergamot will release their highly anticipated new record TONES in early 2016.
