Exkapade is the fruit of two musical journeys which together produce a chilled out funky style called Ambient Jazz Funk....playing it cool on a hot summer night... Helen Rogers was lead vocalist with UK Funk band Direct Drive who had a number one hit in the UK Soul Charts with the song 'Anything', the band then signed to Polydor. She was lead vocalist and co- songwriter on Paul Hardcastle's award winning 5 album project The Jazzmasters and recieved considerable interest in her first solo EP 'Eyes Like Midnight' in 2008, the title song reaching No 7 in the Soulchoonz chart and 'My Eternal Love' No 11. FIL Jones is a musician and vocalist, with a passion for the Bass, FIL's writing and Production has developed over a lifetime of recording from home built studio back in the 80's as a teenager using multitracking Ferrograph tape recorders to the midi revolution in the 90's. His Electronic and Software knowledge has allowed Fil to follow the changes in technology to the present day. This latest Collaboration with the superb voice of Helen Rogers and FIl's distinctive Bass sound has given a fresh yet familiar Jazz funk feel that is Exkapade.
