简介
Living just outside Nashville, Rick Bennett is a songwriter who loves to tell stories with his lyrics and create music that enhances the story experience. As a songwriter, he enjoys the freedom to experiment with the many different and creative forms of words and music including the folk, acoustic rock, acoustic jazz, and even a dabble or two in the classical realm. The Short Stories and Tall Tales CD garnered high praise from critics in various media including Jam Magazine, which gave the effort 4 of 5 stars. Rick is currently working on two more CDs which should be out within the next two years. A special thanks on this CD to Bob Baker who worked tirelessly as a producer, musician, and friend. Grandpa You're My Hero - I never knew my grandfather, he passed when my mother was 6 years old. What I know of him is from stories passed down to me by mom and other family members. My mother has his rocking chair, which I have always loved to sit in and there's a picture on the wall with him and his big bushy mustache. I wrote this song while trying to imagine him, what he was like, and what my life would have been like had I known him, heard his voice, and seen the kindness that was evident in the picture that hangs on the wall looking out at me for so many years. Watch Eagles Fly - There is a freedom in watching the flight of the eagle as it soars effortlessly through a clear blue sky, tilting its wings left and right to catch the breath of wind reaching out like the hand of God to support, sustain, and guide. Bitter Wine - This is an introspective song about the sadness which many times accompanies love. It is not meant as a cure, complaint, or solution, simply a self-painted observation. Willie Boy - This is the story of Willie Boy and Mamma Gator who had a sort of Jonah and the Whale type encounter leaving both of them a little worse off for their unexpected swampy encounter. Take A Little - This is a Florida tune written just for fun of it. Angelic Reasoning - I am a fan of Acoustic Alchemy and for a long time have wanted to produce a project of instrumental songs that would give me the same feeling that I get when I listen to Nick and Greg weave their magic. Sadly, Nick passed a few years ago, but the amazing work that he and Greg did will live on. I hope for as long as music itself. Angelic Reasoning is my first attempt at capturing that feeling.
