简介
by Ed Hogan Produced by George Duke, Don't Stop was the second in a trio of mid-'80s gold albums from Jeffrey Osborne that included Stay With Me Tonight and Emotional. The title track was a slab of upbeat '80s rock/pop that successfully broke Osborne out of the ballad mold going. Its follow-up, "Borderlines," written by keyboardist Raymond Jones (Chic, Whitney Houston, State of Art), made it to number seven R&B, number 38 pop in late 1984. The tender ballad "Crazy 'Bout Cha" received massive radio play as an album track and remains the singer's most underrated recording. The X-Files' Mulder and Scully might play the upbeat UFO-themed "You Can't Be Serious" on their car stereo. The charting single "Let Me Know" is in the mode of Osborne's previous smooth hits. "Don't Stop" and "Borderlines" are on his Ultimate Collection.
