Independent Christian artist and worship leader, wahba, announces the release of his sophomore project, the beautiful effect. “God seems to have made everything better on this record,” states wahba. “From songwriting to production quality to my abilities as a singer and musician... He’s given me the opportunity to improve on all of them!” As primary songwriter and producer for the album, wahba describes the beautiful effect as a “concept worship album.” The first conceptual side, titled the beauty, rocks with driving modern pop hymns reflecting the raw and soulful stylings characteristic of wahba’s prior recordings. Songs on the beauty center around themes of God’s impact on our lives - his cross, his grace, his providence. In contrast, the effect introduces quiet, moody worship melodies that thematically illustrate our response to the Lord’s beauty - upward proclamations to our God as author of our life-stories - confessing, sacrificing, and making an attempt to love Him in return. The two “sides” are joined by a modern chant interlude named “Stay with Me (Bleibet Hier),” a haunting melody commonly sung at contemplative services in Taize, France. With guest appearances by Christopher Strone (Phoebe Snow, Bo Diddley) and Arizona singer/songwriter, JJ Heller (Stone Table Records), the beautiful effect was mastered by Grammy Award-winning Hank Williams at MasterMix studios (Passion, David Crowder Band, Jars of Clay, DC Talk, Tim McGraw). As former guitarist for Reign Kings, Brandon Reid Allen, and Nathan Finfrock, Arizona-based wahba has played on the same bill with artists such as Live, Collective Soul, Blues Traveler, Eve 6, Telecast and Jonah33. wahba took 2nd place overall in the 2005 Crash Competition in Arizona. He and the band played at the Rage Music Festival (Pillar, Kutless) and have been invited to open for Natalie Grant (Curb Records) in March, 2006, supporting wahba's new album, THE BEAUTIFUL EFFECT. His critically-acclaimed solo debut, PROSKYNEO (2004), introduced wahba’s brand of soulful, funky-rock blended with modern worship.
