The brothers Watkins have put together a cohesively brilliant EP. The music, production, instrumentation, and lyrics all show a level of creativity and professionalism that is mature beyond their years. Their refusal to be nailed down categorically into a genre shows a commitment to creative authenticity - the music speaks for itself, it is what it is. But most of all, I applaud their ability to speak truth without shame, without relying on cliches, without compromising the integrity of the music. These songs are gospel-soaked without being cheesy in the least. They unflinchingly proclaim the goodness of our God, as well as our need for the Savior he provided. I hope they achieve widespread attention, not for the sake of the Watkins boys, but because Christ will be honored, truth will be proclaimed, and good music will be heard by more people!
