简介
Conceived in 2005, The Fisticuffs are an Irish Folk Punk band from the South Side of Chicago. Singer Bobby Baldwin describes the music as, “…similar to an Irish wake mixed with a soccer riot.” The songs are about hard work, family, heritage at home and abroad, a great many sins, and life on the South Side of Chicago. Utilizing a wide array of instruments including drums, electric guitar, bass, mandolin, violin, and harmonica, has allowed the band to fuse many different musical stylings into a sound unmistakably their own. Since 2005, The Fisticuffs have been building up a reputation for their music. According to Paddy Rock Radio DJ John B., The Fisticuffs have, “…become one of the most listened to bands on Paddy Rock Radio knocking out Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, and The Pogues from the top bands in our catalog.” The band has also become well known for their raucous live shows in such Chicago venues as The Note, The Double Door, The Beat Kitchen, Reggie’s, Champ’s Rock Room, and Subterranean, as well as The Rave in Milwaukee. The Fisticuffs have shared the stage with bands like English punk rock legends Sham 69, as well as Chicago favorites T. Duggins of The Tossers, and Flatfoot 56.
