简介
Drew Fish is a Texas country original. Living in Austin, the live music capitol of the world, he didn't have to go far to realize his dream. Trained on the piano and guitar at a young age, Drew found his passion to write in high school. His audience has grown exponentially since his early performances at El Arroyo and Hill's Singer-Songwriter Night. What makes Texas special is the unique people and unique experiences. Drew's music captures the essence of Texas-- floating down the Guadalupe River at Gruene, watching the surf roll in at South Padre, or listening to the rhythm of a windmill in Lubbock. With the musical influences of his friends and the encouragement of Grammy Award winning producer and musician, Lloyd Maines, Drew has honed his songs into a musical experience of Texan culture. Drew's debut album, Playin' With a Flame, features artists who have amassed fourteen Grammy awards. Five time Grammy award winner Adam Odor applied all of the techniques that he has accumulated producing the album. The album also features five time Grammy award winner Cindy Cashdollar on the steel guitar and dobro, two time Grammy award winner Jason Roberts on the fiddle, Scott Davis of the Band of Heathens on the accordion, banjo and mandolin, and Cody Braun of Reckless Kelly singing harmonies. The album packaging was done by Grammy award winners Sarah and Shauna Dodds of Backstage Designs. Whether it's the generation above him two stepping to Show Me Tonight or the younger generation who is ready for the next Three Day Weekend, audiences of all ages are not only boot scootin' to his live music at the dancehall or singing along with his CD but enjoying his next great hit on the radio. The title track of the album, Playin' With a Flame, is the story of the late gunfighter Wild Bill Hickok. It is the historically-accurate tale of his encounters with the law, an unruly saloon owner, and how the dead-man's hand came to be. Come Home is the story of a man's realization that maybe he is better off alone. Poor was written sitting on a couch in South Austin. Drew realized that his friend had a stack of bills on the table, an empty fridge and an even more empty bank account. Baby Just Let Go is a man's advice to his girlfriend or wife to not get too caught up on her problems. Whatever problems you are facing right now won't matter tomorrow. The first single on the album,Small Price to Pay, is an up-beat feel-good song about picking up your girl, grabbing some cheap whiskey, and heading out to the creek. You don't have to buy top-shelf liquor, an expensive dinner, or pricey tickets to show her that you love her— a thoughtful trip back to where you met will do just fine. Forever is the promise Drew's grandfather made to his grandmother, who he loved with all his heart, when he passed away.
