简介
With his brand of modern country with an edge, Mike delivers his music straight from the heart. Born and Raised in the sleepy town of Loogootee Indiana, there is nothing but rich farmland for as far as the eye can see. While most of his peers were turning wrenches on stock cars, Mike would spend his time writing songs and dreaming of one day chasing the dream of country music. After graduating high school, Mike went on to sign up for the Army. The Army took him halfway around the world and back. Although he always had a love for music, it wasn't until his tour in Korea that Mike decided to commit himself to his music and dream. "There really isn't much to do in Korea on Friday nights but go to the bars." he says "I would go up to my platoon sargents barracks and he would pull out the acoustic and we'd sit around and sings songs and have a few beers. It was a lot of fun." After leaving Korea to come back to the states, Mike was stationed with the 101st Airborne at Ft. Campbell Kentucky. " A few of my buddies and I would go to the bars in Nashville and the Clarksville area and sing," He says "Nashville is full of aspiring writers and singers. The competition is fierce and plentiful. It makes it even more difficult when you don't have a clue where to start to find leads to get you in the circle." Singing in every bar that he could and performing at every wedding he could find, it wasn't until the summer of 99' that he finally made contact. " I would make up my own promotion packets and send them to anyone I thought would listen," he says. "I sent a packet to A.M.I. in late summer of 99' and just waited to see what would happen." After six weeks of patiently waiting, the wait paid off. "I got back to the barracks after duty that Friday to find I had a message from the label," He says. " I gave them a call and talked with the A and R department. They said they loved my style and was interested in doing a project with me. Mike said, "If it's one thing I've learned about the music business, it's that you have to have patience and persistence." In September of 99', Mike met with the President of A.M.I. Michael Radford and recorded his first single "North Wind". A.M.I is a small indie label, but a very respected label in Nashville has furthered the careers of such Country greats as Johnny Paycheck and Vern Gosdin. The single was played in all 50 states and climbed from #98 to #11 on the top 100 Indie Music Chart in twelve weeks. After a long break for reflection, writing and preparing, Mike's long anticipated debut album "Burn Her Memory Down" has been released and is receiving airplay worldwide in all 50 states and overseas. "Burn Her Memory Down" is a compilation of strong love ballads and hard driving country that reflects lost loves, hard times, and country living. Currently, Mike is writing new material for future projects and promoting his new release. Be sure to pick up a copy...you'll love yourself for it !!
