简介
This is Mi Vida My Bizzy, my first mixtape, originally released on September 27 of last year. The main motivation for the re-release is to provide additional instrumental tracks, and to switch out that dopey picture of myself that was on the original cover. The new cover shows a studio picture from the mixtape's recording session. I had been performing regularly for about 2 years before its release, so, when the decision to record an official project was made, there was a fair amount of material to choose from. The intro, originally titled 'Mi Vida My Bizzy,' had me rappin 58 bars straight, without a break (sometimes painstaking for the listener), plus, the content was no good, so it was shortened to make the intro that exists now. The song 'Most Dreams Don't Come True' used to be called 'The Smell of It,' which I wrote when I was 19, and all it talked about was diving in piles of money and getting messaged by super models. So about a month before the recording session, 'The Smell of It' was rewritten to create 'Most Dreams Don't Come True,' which explores the uncertainty of success in the music business. When the song was rewritten, the verses were completely changed, and the hook was only slightly altered. 'Vroom Vroom' was the only track produced in preparation for the recording session. 'Mikey's Diggin,'' was produced by Mikey Kotz, as the title suggests. Mi Vida My Bizzy was recorded sometime in early September 2011 at Collapsible Studios in West Asheville. The tracks were recorded in the order that they're presented, and each song was done in one take, without breaks or punch-ins. 'Mikey's Diggin' was recorded 1 week later at the studio of Mikey Kotz in Atlanta, GA. -Martin
