简介
Singer-songwriter JC Jordan's debut crackles with life and hope, and at the same time, doesn't shy away from the not-so-sunny. The first song on the EP, called "No Safety", is about one of those topics, where he sings about the difficulties that a person can face when they are trying to make something of themselves-- confronting self-doubt and self-sabotage and then trying to overcome it. The pop single "I Want You" is a plea for their lover's time, while the next song, "Love Me", is the reverse. "Superstition" is about believing, even to the point of seeming ridiculous, that a love can make it, and uses tongue-in-cheek metaphors to portray that sometimes, even the best plans need a little extra luck. "Crimson Eyes" recounts a lover's scorn, and "Walking on Water" uses pastoral imagery to again reinforce that belief and faith can take you anywhere. "Stars & Lies" draws the album to a close and comments on the futility of game-playing in relationships.
