简介
SANDUHR santur, the Iranian hammered dulcimer, presented in a different way... roozbeh nafisi, born in the longest night of 1979, is a composer and santur player. he studied music in iran, usa, germany, japan and austria. tracks: 1) this is an ambitious assembly of uncommon playing ways, making them feel at home also within a traditional atmosphere. (09:10) 2) a maxmsp patch is used here to combine channeled santur sounds in unique collages. among them, a favorite collage is processed in 2016 to form this piece. (01:04) 3) which way to go? there are two roads here: not separate, each one goes its way. they intertwine by leading neither to a loss nor to a win. (02:23) 4) (03:39) 5) the santur connects whistles with a tamtam. this is a selected fragment of a longer story. like previous tracks on this collection, this is a recording made in vienna in 2013. (06:28) 6) the santur sets the music of bahram badie’s words primary. this 2008 recitative later influenced two music-animation collaborations in tokyo. the present song, configured in 2017 in vienna, is based on two sacramento recordings. (08:39) 7) santur plays the foreground to a drone, itself a foreground or an alternative to silence. without roozbeh’s volunteering colleagues in california, whose enthusiasm played the orchestra, this music of 2008 would not have come to sound. (14:08) 8) in this piece, made around 2013—2014 in vienna, electronic signals emerging from santur vibrations are treated live through accessing pedals.
