简介

It is known that Johann Sebastian Bach conducted these for Orchestra Suites at a concerto with the Collegium Musicum Leipzig in 1723, and ever since scholars have asked themselves how they sounded in these days. The Cappella Coloniensis was one of the first musical ensembles in Germany that extensively tried to recreate the sound of the Baroque, so we get a fascinating insight into the question "What is the sound of Bach?" - This album presents one fascinating possibility. Bach wrote these suites for the joy of life. The ouvertures are French Style, the other movements are modern dances of the Baroque era. It was easy going music to be enjoyed, and namely the famous "Air" (the 2nd movemet of the third suite) has become a Bach-All-Time-Classic! The Cappella Coloniensis tries to reflect these aspects and presents the in a timeless rendition in which the joy of the music comes first. So this new album is a "Must Listen" for all Fans of Baroque Light Music. Enjoy!
