FOUNDED: July 18th 1985. Its founded and director was the recognizer musician and composer RODRIGO ALBERTO GIL MOSCOSO (R.I.P). The idea came with the purpose of regroup Colombian talented people, in order to show our country Colombia and the world a high level of musicianship and professionalism to bring our culture to the best scenarios. “LA CALI CHARANGA” has a wide repertoire of hits such as: Al Pasito Cañandonga, Se Quemó El Guizao, Jardín De Bellas, Mezcladita Con Salsa, among others. AWARDS: • Participation and recognition in the Caribean Music Festival in 1987. • The hit song AL PASITO CAÑANDONGA was nominated as ̈THE SING OF THE CALI FESTIVAL ̈” in 1993. • Special recognition in the First Regional Meeting during the XXXVIII Feria de Cali. December 16th 1995. • The Best National Orchestra in the Orchestras Festival during the 41th Feria of Cali. Janury 25th 1999. • Tribute to LA CALI CHARANGA in its 25 years of artistic life for the 53th Feria de Cali XVII during the Orchestras Festival, in December 30th 2010. DISCOGRAPHY During the first musical production La Cali Charanga starts to conquest the salsa market with songs like: La Bochinchera, Mi Patria, Pregonero, with the label Codiscos. The second musical production called “LA CALI CHARANGA” opened the doors to the international level. For the third music production in 1989-1990, the orchestra La Cali Charanga was part of the label Sony Music, in which recorded the song “Al Pasito Cañandonga”. This production had others hits like: Se Quemó El Guizao y La Mulata De Mi Barrio, obtaining the top one on sales nationally. For the fourth musical production in 1992 “!Ahí na má!, La Cali Charanga opened the doors in Ecuador and Venezuela, participating in the American Cup of Soccer in 1993 and the third tour in the United States 1994. In 1997 La Cali Charanga presented the song “Mi Gente de Cali” as an advancement of the fifth musical production, which occupied the first places in the radio in Cali Colombia. In April 20th 1999, the orchestra La Cali Charanga, family, fans and followers received the news of the death and loss of teacher, composer, musician, arranger, and founder of La Cali Charanga. In 2003, Julian Alberto Gil the master ́s son initiated his musical studies in Cali Colombia; besides musical production, sound engineering and musical business in Buenos Aires and Rosario Argentina. In 2007 Julian Gil presented the fifth musical production "VUELVE LA PACHANGA CON LA CALI CHARANGA" under his musical direction, where he managed and achieved important business objectives. In January 2010 Julian Gil decided to present a new musical project with goals and objectives on which developed a new look, innovative marketing strategies, promotion of art, and this is how La Cali Charanga is next to present its new musical production.
