Life is can be difficult. Often there is a sense of being handcuffed to stress and worry. This recording is designed to help those who are looking for a quiet break from the constant barrage of life to reflect on God’s promises and to be renewed in their faith; to find peace and rest as the echoes of the music that is part of our spiritual heritage flow through their hearts and minds “like a river.”

FireWeed is a traditional Celtic band from Northern Michigan. Band members include Kathy Case (Hammered Dulcimer, Irish Whistle); Ken Case (guitar, Irish Tenor Banjo, Irish Bouzouki); John Harrison (Bodhran, Congas, Percussion); and Mary Harrison (Harp, Autoharp). They perform at festivals, concerts, banquets, churches, art shows, weddings and other special events. They also share their music through their recordings. They have five recordings. Their name "FireWeed" comes from a flower in northern Michigan that grows in the wild. It is one of the first plants to grow back after the devastation of a forest fire. It survives because of its deep root. This group sees this as a symbol of their music. The tunes and hymns they perform have a deep root in tradition that has allowed them to survive and thrive through generations.
