I decided to record this song [again] for a few reasons. 1. I wanted a song that could be played annually 2. I wanted to record something that would really let Al Gomez and Henry Rivas {West Side Horn members}, cut loose. I was NOT disappointed. 3.I love classic R/B, but don't record covers. I wrote this one. 4. I think Baby Boomers would like it as well as the youngsters who'll give it a listen. 5. I knew it would be extremely fun to do it, and it was! If you like this recording half as much as I enjoyed recording it then "Mission Accomplished". As mentioned, Al and Henry played horns {Al wrote the horn parts}, WJ RobinsonII played drums and I played guitars, sang vocals, played bass, engineered, wrote and produced the song. I need a nap. Lol I recorded this at Texart studios, Deep in the Heart of Texas, {clapx4}. This is my first release under Winston James since 1991, but my band, The Drugstore Cowboys, has 4 Cds available on Cd Baby. Jan Zerda is a featured vocalist on many of the cuts and one Cd, Shades, features her exclusively. Definitely worth a listen. There are a couple of songs in mixdown mode that we will be releasing after Halloween. Look for "Rainy Day Blues" and "Texas Boy" in the near future, but first I want to "Wake Up the Monster".
