简介

I started singing because I was born into an incredible musical family (LOS DIABLOS) & music was a way of life for us. I jumped at the first chance I could to sing in the church choir and did so all through elementary. My older brother (MAN ONE) was a graffitti artist and introduced me to Hip Hop very early on. I was a lil b-boy and would write out Ice-T & De-La-Soul lyrics all day. I was also an alter boy and would go to church sometimes without my family because I felt it was my second home. When my priest/principal noticed my devotion in faith he approached me with a chance to study at a monastery in northern Ca. where I could begin my path as a future priest myself. I took this as a "call to serve" (which was written on the brochure he handed me). When I contemplated this life changing option I was in the middle of listening to Public Enemy's "nation of millions..." I came to the conclusion that keeping the word of God locked up in a church where people who have "already found God" was not as effective or challenging as taking the word out into the streets where people are looking for a way out of an imposed and soul starving society. It was Chuck D against Father O'neil in my heart and mind. So I studied the similarities between attending mass and listening to music. Then the answer became bio-chemically clear! Become a living church, able to reach billions through the time traveling technical wizardry of recording and live eye-opening performances. So at the age of 13 I hit the stage and began performing at the local open mic nights that were booming in the early 90's in the Los Angeles area (Goodlife, Foundation, Unity...) By then puberty had forced me to lean more to the rapper side of the mic but I still howled and crooned at every syllable voiced! I soon met a few producers (MIX MASTER SPADE,LORD SHAMEL to name a few) and began my dream of recording. When the beats fell short of what I needed, I took that as a call to explore the fundamentals of Music Theory and drum machine production. My uncle showed me some guitar chords and gave me my first snare and a cymbalI that I taped to a chair and practiced along to Black Sabbath & The Police jams blasting in my parent's garage! Also, I started messing with my friend's (KDOG) Roland DR5 and soon had my own E-MU SP 1200! When I got my MPC 2000 and Yamaha SY77 (1996) is when I dove into heavy production concepts and developed my unique sound. In 1999 I self released my first complete solo album "SACRIFICIAL OFFERINGS". It featured Acid Reign and DJ ESP and was produced & recorded by myself. In the year 2000 I gathered my M.C. & musician friends (AWOL ,ACID REIGN,Xavior T.,BIZ,Gregsta) for some recording sessions that would end up being self released as "MAJESTIK HEADQUARTERS" . This was the first time I experimented with mixing hip hop with traditional instruments , my own hiphop/rock hybrid style. I continued with "Thought Provoker" 2002, another self produced, recorded, released solo album. After these first few years of releasing and promoting my music with very little financial success I continued making music but not worrying about rushing it out too quick. I took note that I myself loved music from many years ago and if I can get my songs recorded, then maybe someday people will be ready to hear them. That day has finally come dear reader! You have shown enough interest in my music to merit a lifetime of my musical devotion to you. You have joined the millions that I envision when conjuring sacred tones and chants. I hope you find my music as fun & empowering to listen to as it is to make. peace & blesSINGS! - See more at: http://www.mykmansun.com/bio/#sthash.OwUjwZSy.dpuf
