"It is because of surprises such as Mohenjo Daro that we have the reputation of excellence that we have." -Dan Behrman, Program Manager, Montreal Jazz Festival "The members of Mohenjo Daro have meticulously nailed down the complex time changes and odd passages of Middle Eastern music, to bring a little of India to everybody." -Billy Donald, Drummer Interviews "These guys make it look easy - the same way that nature makes a perfectly shaped ripple in a pond look easy. It's elegance in motion." -Arie Vandenberg, ArtSpike Magazine "Daro worked the slow drum beats into a frenzied hail, looming over the crowd in an unanticipated rush, and then ebbed back into the flowing rhythm, disappearing just as suddenly as it appeared." -Jana Marx, Et Cetera ***Winner of the 2003 & 2004 Cincinnati Entertainment Award for "BEST WORLD MUSIC"*** ***Voted "BEST WORLD BEAT", Best of Cincinnati 2004*** Mohenjo Daro delivers a powerful presentation of original, yet traditional Indian and Middle Eastern inspired music. The group's inherently western methods blend with elements ranging from Indian raga and devotional music to Arabic trance and belly dance music. For over a decade Mohenjo Daro has developed a unique repertoire that realistically combines their Western influences with their shared knowledge of Indian and Arabic music. The band has toured throughout the U.S. & Canada, shared the stage with the Fareed Haque Group, appeared at the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2002 & 2005 and performed for the President of Bangladesh.
