'With Love' was Produced by Ruby Room Recordings in Seattle, Washington. (Special shout out to Ruby Room!) I originally wrote this song in my studio apartment in Chicago after coming home from a party, sorry neighbors. I had just graduated from college, I was 23, everything was confusing and expensive. The first attempt I made at recording this song was an acoustic version that you can find on SoundCloud - if you have a fetish for novice sounding songs interrupted by the distant sound of an airplane! I knew it needed to be recorded in a studio but couldn't find the means to getting one with the budget I had in Chicago. A friend of mine knew of a studio in Seattle and I happened to be visiting home at that time, so, with the help of an amazing engineer I was able to get this song up and running. Same friend, super cool friend, later filmed a music video for the track in Chicago that you can find on YouTube. All in all, I've learned a couple things along the journey of making this song: love can be really tough, being in your early 20's can be even tougher, so love harder and have more fun, because both of these experiences are worthy of your time and heart. Write about all of it, create from it, because someone else needs it. Listen and explore the opportunities given to you, say yes more, go where you are celebrated not tolerated, thank those who care, and know that you are stronger than you think you are.
