Those who follow Boston's thriving alt-country/folk music scene may be well aware of Nolan McKelvey's estimable talents as a member of the band The Benders, but the rest of the country ought to recognize the name with the release of his solo album. Some career highlights include: Performances: Performed at The Newport Folk Festival, and Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Opened for Bob Dylan, Greg Brown, Bela Fleck, Tim and Mollie O' Brien, Jack Johnson, Odetta, Derek Trucks, Peter Rowan, Alison Brown, Sugarland and many more. Recorded with Levon Helm (The Band). Live performances on Nationally Syndicated "World Café" and "Nashville Bluegrass Breakdown". Awards: Nolan's bands were nominated for 7 Boston Music Awards, with The Resophonics winning a BMA in 2004. The Benders were nominated Best Roots Band by the Boston Phoenix. Onus B.
