Most songs that I write are story songs. They use a story to take us on a journey that is physical, emotional and philosophical. I make no excuses for what they say, I let the songs stand on their own. To me the content of a song is the important thing, not the performance. Since the earliest times, songs have been part of life. Sometimes songs speak to us and shine a light on how we feel. They can even have an effect on how we feel. A song can allow us to identify ourselves to each other and shows us others who have a similar experience or values. In rare and wonderful cases, they can show us something that makes us think. A song can put us in a place we never knew existed or they can put us in a place we know down to our core. On the other hand, it could be that the song is just a song. Who knows? You decide what the destination is, or if there even is one. I just hope you enjoy the journey.
