Heavy but spacious beats, powerful horns, funky keys and guitar, giving us an irresistible result of sweet voices and raw rhythm. The Dutch/French songstress mixes her favorite sounds of soul, funk, jazz, and 80s pop into tasty sonic delight. A Dutch girl from Paris, she lived and studied there, first agronomy, then music. She played in the big city for a couple of years with a couple of bands, one of them dedicated to Prince and the thousands of versions of the thousands of songs, and the other one supporting the "crème" of French pop artists (TéTé, La Grande Sophie, Arman Méliès...) and playing the clubs with her original material. Freshly disembarked from Europe, she’s hooked up in Melbourne with talented young musicians, groovy vocalists, and plays around as a 7-piece. And it is so much fun to watch: the stage is filled with characters who are contagiously enjoying the crowd and themselves. Anna Moot's is talking in her funny accent, guitar strapped around her pink jumpsuit and fingers glued to the MPC. The band (the Manna Oots) is supporting the quirky songs energetically, and everybody is smiling, dancing, cheering, including you. Definitely not going unnoticed, they appeared at the St Kilda Festival this year and the Hoopla Event (with the Dukes of Windsor) while also playing the club circuit and Melbourne’s key venues, and was recently nominated finalist at the 8th Independant Music Awards with the track "What If" (r'n'b category). Documentation became very necessary: "Shaken&Taken” is the debut album, produced by the girl herself and mixed by Adam Rhodes (Paul Kelly, Renee Geyer, The Cat Empire, Jackson Jackson…) at Sing Sing Studio in Melbourne.
