The entire album was written by CHEYENNE WEST and Steven Ossana (Polygram/Mercury) who also produced the CD, making it a well-rounded modern country album.

On the first song, "Kissin' in the Dark", about young, wild love, you'll find yourself tapping your foot along as lyrical references to Merle Haggard being on the radio fill your ears. By the second song, "Stop", you will find yourself singing with CHEYENNE'S undeniably catchy vocal lines as some truly grinding pedal steel work accompanies her making it clear this girl can rock. CHEYENNE'S vocals will captivate you on the haunting song "Midnight Memory" and will leave you wanting more with its mandolin lines floating effortlessly around West's larger than life vocals. Make no mistake this lady can "Take it Like a Woman" as she self proclaims in the title song, filled with ripping guitar lines and girl-power attitude. Prepare to have your heart strings pulled on "It all Hurts" with its heartfelt lyrical content, raw emotion and talent pouring out of CHEYENNE, with sprinkles of weeping pedal steel floating by. On the hell-raising song "Loaded Gun" CHEYENNE will have you down on your knees begging for forgiveness. Changing gears to "Standing in the Rain" which is the perfect blend of country-pop and adult contemporary sounds with CHEYENNE'S gripping voice at the forefront. CHEYENNE WEST aggressively straddles the line between country and rock on "Who Should I Love Tonight", with its distorted, in-your-face guitars and CHEYENNE"S edgy lyrical content. By the final song "I'll Take That Road", about big country star dreams of fame and fortune, CHEYENNE shows off her classical country background with her almost June Carter-esque twang, complete with banjo and foot-stomping beat.
