Modulus Quartet champions a diverse range of music by living composers. Drawing on its collective experience, the quartet seeks out music of an individual style, developing creative relationships with composers and artists. The quartet explores new ways of presenting music, performing in unusual venues and incorporating visual arts and multi-media technology. The composers featured on our debut album have written a diverse range of compositions from Minimalism to Indian classical and Jazz to Drum and Bass: Terry Davies - an Olivier Award winning composer and BAFTA nominee. Terry is an associate artist of Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures Company. Veera Lummi - a Finnish composer, producer and singer who has written for a variety of projects both in Finland and in the UK. Ash Madni – a composer who fuses Eastern and Western traditional styles. Ash has written the score for the 2017 movie, Vanguard. Richard Norris – a Royal Television Society Award winner, Richard composes for theatre, film and the concert stage. Eliot Lloyd Short – a South African born multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and actor. Eliot has written for the Bristol Old Vic and appeared for many years as actor/musician in the National Theatre’s production of Warhorse. Matthew Slater – a film and TV composer with many years experience, Matt has written for Channel 4’s Dispatches, BBC’s Tilly and Friends and ITV1’s Endeavour.
