简介
After several successful years with her former band, Not in Kansas, Shanna Jackman is proud to announce the release of her first solo EP project of original songs, co-written and produced with artist/writers Connie Mims and Nancy Beaudette. Funded completely by her fans via Kickstarter, the self titled EP features 6 songs recorded at Larry Beaird Music Studio in Nashville in July 2013. The EP reflects her own blend of country rock, pop and soul with songs that are a combination of her own life experiences as well as stories that relate to others. When discussing her newest single, “In My Truck,” writing music about her life experiences is the only thing that makes sense. “I can’t write about what other people have gone through, because I didn’t walk in their shoes. I wouldn’t know how they truly felt. I can only write about my experiences, good or bad. It’s what I know, and hopefully, someone else can relate to it too.” The recording features standout musicians including guitar player Troy Lancaster (Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Randy Hauser), steel guitarist Russ Pahl (Blake Shelton, Brett Elderedge, Luke Bryan, Elton John), keyboardist Mike Rojas (Luke Bryan, Blue Sky Riders, Orianthi), bassist Eli Beaird (Luke Bryan, Caitlin Rose, Kix Brooks, Cledus T. Judd), and possibly the most recorded drummer in music history, Eddie Bayers (Bob Seger, Willie Nelson), and of course on 2004 ACM nominee for acoustic guitar Larry Beaird (Rascal Flatts, Randy Travis, Faith Hill) who is the owner of Beaird Music Group, Inc and also tracked all the songs on the EP. Shanna is one of country music’s ambassadors in New England, performing in a variety of venues both as a headliner as well as opening up for artists such as: Ronnie Dunn, Blake Shelton, Gretchen Wilson, Dierks Bentley, Alan Jackson, Darryl Worley, Lee Brice, Collin Raye, Jo-Dee Messina and others. Her awards include: 2009 Stars Over Boston: Unsung Heroes Who Sing, 2010 WCTK 98.1’s Country Idol, 2011 Most Promising Vocalist and Entertainer by New England Country Music Organization (NECMO), the 2012 NECMO Horizon Award for her single "In My Truck” and 2013 WMRC Award for Best Local Single. When discussing her accomplishments she said “…I have so much to be thankful for. I have really been blessed so much in my life and have had some amazing experiences. But, what still gets to me are the smaller things, like performing the National Anthem for our troops.” One song on the album , “We’ve Got Your Back” , was specifically written to thank the Military and their families for their service and will have its own special release on September 11, 2013. Local military organizations have already adopted it as their theme song. A portion of the proceeds of the sales of the song will help provide care packages to the troops and assist local organizations that Shanna regularly supports.
