简介
This album is the second incarnation of the musical smorgasbord that was heard in ontologist's second full-length album, "The Book Of Lists". While that album focused on the postmodern nature of our daily lives, this one instead focuses on the internal, the spiritual, the meditative. Still bursting with powerful grooves and driving electronica, this music describes the world within… sometimes quiet, sweet, beautiful... sometimes angry, strong, defiant. Harking Buddhist chant, Classical minimalism, undulating reggae, ambient wash, digital noise, lush orchestras, driving hip-hop, and a plentitude of other styles, this album has a lot for everyone. Disparate at first, the constantly shifting style, groove, and wash of sounds comes together in a single sonic landscape of warmth, love, and hope. Plenty of connections from the previous album are threaded through this one too; familiar melodies, resonant ideas, and the overarching mythos of our world today. Ontologist is a composer, producer, and DJ/VJ living in San Francisco Bay Area. His music is an intentionally eclectic blend of all styles, genres, and moods. He is probably best known for his YouTube experiment "I Am Sitting In A Video Room" that used the medium of YouTube itself as a means of creating new -- and possibly horrific -- material. He is also a member of Vox Novus, a composer collective based in New York City, where he creates video to accompany the massive output of the collective; with Vox Novus he has created over 480 videos to date (and a number of audio pieces as well). He currently performs around the Bay Area playing a mixture of original and sampled gold.
