简介

Red Sea Entertainment is proud to present the stunning debut solo album from The Planets frontman Nomadic Poet. ‘A Traveller’s Tale’ draws together a lifetime of personal, spiritual, musical and political experiences. Best known as a member of The Planets, he has worked with the likes of Atmosphere, Planet Asia, Evidence, Prince Po, Celph Titled, Zion I and Junior Reid. Their music has been played on radio shows all over the world and received rave reviews in magazines such as URB, Hip Hop Connection, DJ, Blues & Soul, Touch, Echoes, Knowledge, Stealth and ATM. Nomadic also featured on last year’s well-received ‘Above Board’ album from DJ MK and recently collaborated with UK Soul legend Noel McKoy for a reworking of his classic song ‘Family’ alongside Ty. Nomadic Poet was born and raised in North West London or the ‘Thorough Borough’ as he likes to call it. As a young Asian growing up in the inner city during the 80’s, he fell in love with Hip Hop music and was inspired by artists like Spoonie G, Rakim, KRS-ONE, Kool G Rap and Chuck D. ‘A Traveller’s Tale’ is a true example of longevity in the Hip Hop game from an artist who is immersed in his craft. Jam packed with stellar production and a vast display of lyrical skills, the beats and rhymes grab you from the get go. Supplying the lush musical soundscape are some of Hip Hop’s finest beatsmiths such as DJ Spinna, Drew, Lewis Parker, Gensu Dean, Dagnabbit (Foreign Beggars), Apollo and Beats In Progress. Guest features come courtesy of Wu-Tang affiliate Killah Priest, Grand Daddy I.U., Hasan Salaam and Maya Azucena, who just signed with Stephen Marley’s Ghetto Youths imprint. You’ll also find all three original members of The Planets reunited on the Jon Doe produced ‘Message’. The Poet truly lives up to his title by easily flipping between witty punchlines, as witnessed on the track ‘Sunrise’, to thought-provoking lyricism on ‘Total Experience’. Quick to dispel any stereotypes or misconceptions, he boldly states “I never been the same since those planes hit/tainted/painted the wrong picture to the unacquainted/or those not familiar/what you got was a piece of the truth like memorabilia/I’m here to explain like an encyclopaedia.” The track perfectly sums up his emotions, coming from the perspective of a second generation Muslim Asian living in Britain. "A bold album that repays repeated listens" HIP HOP CONNECTION "Rejecting stereotypes, correcting misconceptions, and delivering some top-notch hip-hop in the process, Nomadic Poet’s tale is one that’s definitely worth hearing" BLUES & SOUL "...manages to hold your attention...definitely one for the heads" ATM "As early as the Intro, it’s apparent that Nomadic Poet is a skilled lyricist" BIG SMOKE (Album Of The Issue)
