简介
Ch@ng3 (change) is an alternative rapper from San Diego, CA. Earning his yung stripes in the highly celebrated independent hip hop scene of southern california, Ch@ng3 payed his dues in the both the battle rap and promotion circuits. With the early rise of social media, he was able to book his own independent tours throughout the country, and even into parts of Europe. (toured with grammy award winner Sirah, Reason the Citizen, & lots of other rap homies) He played the most random underground clubs, and saw lots of weird sh*t out there in the big world. "They were more like rap vacations, our own version of On The Road, just a bunch of young rap Kerouacs, the shows were not profitable, at all", explains the long haired rapper/singer. Although however underwhelming and at times chaotic those tours were, that experience would eventually open the door to many other opportunities. Such as tour managing for bigger artists and even doing large scale event coordination for some of corporate americas worst companies. But taking all that dirty american money made the young Ch@ng3 feel like a soulless sellout chump, so he gave everybody at his job the middle finger, spit a huge loogie at his boss, and retreated back to the rap-world. After a failed attempt at launching a independent record label, Ch@ng3 took a break from the road and music industry to find himself artistically, and to focus on his own unique style of songwriting, while relocating back to his SD birthplace, Ocean Beach. During this time he did lots of drugs and drank lots of inexpensive alcohol. He befriended the members of the indie pop band, The Burning of Rome, who would end up being incorporated into his widely eclectic, r&b/electro rap album, "Cheers to Being Human". The LP is very honest testament to living life, and glorifying the imperfections of human beings. Working closely in the studio with producer/engineer Destructo Bunny, the two were able to craft a sound very unique with current mainstream music. "Cheers to Being Human" is being received as one of the most original, genre defying records of the last 10 years. Aside from Destructo's spacey soundscapes, the record features production from Swedish mastermind, Joel Siméus, as well as unheralded producer friends (JeJuly, TMACK). In addition to the unique vocals from members of, The Burning of Rome, Ch@ng3 also enlists guest verses from his fellow rap comrades (Reason the Citizen, Beejan, and Squalid). bufu www.heyiknowthatguy.com
