简介

Reasons YOU should take a listen to Edge Michael’s Music. Born Oral Mark Durloo on the 9th day of February to David Durloo and Melzeta McIntosh (younger sister of reggae legend and superstar Peter Tosh) of Westmoreland, Jamaica, EDGE MICHAEL acquired the handle “Rebel With A Cause” as a teen because of the potency of his radically roots sound and conscientious lyrical content. Many years later Rebel With A Cause would be the title of EDGE MICHAEL’S sophomore release on his Loco Records label. Released in 2007 Rebel With A Cause quickly grabbed the attention of roots reggae aficionados and was ultimately selected as one of the Top Ten Reggae Album Picks of the Year by www.radioreggaetrade.com which is the 2 reggae internet radio station. Based in Brazil, www.radioreggaetrade.com is now called 1.FM Reggae Trade network on Windows Media Radio Tuner, and iTunes radio directory. Propelled by catchy songs like: Jah is King, Hotter Than Hot, Best Friend, Motivation and the title track, Rebel With A Cause has garnered EDGE MICHAEL increased attention. EDGE MICHAEL is making remarkable strides and grabbing a rapidly growing fan base throughout Jamaica, Europe, South America, and beyond. His increasing appeal is evident by the more than 3.3 million spins received at his MySpace.com page. From high school performances to professional recordings EDGE MICHAEL has been living his destiny. In the early 90's, performing as lead vocalist for Jah Children band, EDGE MICHAEL shared the stage with celebrated acts Dennis Brown, Gregory Issaac and Sanchez, just to name a few. EDGE moved on to performing with members of the S.A.N.E. Band. EDGE MICHAEL’S first recording was the self-composed and co-produced single entitled Try My Love on the Crowd Pleaser label in 1994. The effort received modest air recognition and sales in excess of four thousand copies. 1995 EDGE joined Gumsion band performing lead vocals; the band was opening act and backing band for the celebrated Beres Hammond. In that year a second single was released, a remake of R. Kelly's Bump 'N' Grine. EDGE’S 1996 release of Hard Road to Travel a self composed, arranged and produced album with some 14 tracks of mostly thought provoking lyrics and love songs, This had him performing on the same ticket alongside entertainers such as Steele Pulse, Burning Spear, Bunny Wailer, Maxi Priest, and Shaggy, to name a few. In the year 2000 EDGE earned more credit to his music and a lot more to his fan base during a promotional tour of the USA performing on Fox network’s Fox 5 Good Day Atlanta and CBS-WGCL TV. In the mist of a busy schedule EDGE found time to study radio broadcasting at the University of the West Indies at Mona. 2002 saw EDGE putting finishing touches on his album Who Are They?, Released on the Loco Records label the album received limited promotions as; at the start of 2003 EDGE took two years off to assist in the set up and operations of his part owned radio station Linkz 96 FM of Jamaica. In the process EDGE also hosted a vibrant prime time radio show Mondays – Fridays. In 2005 EDGE MICHAEL returned to his first love, making music and performing. Between 2005 and 2008 EDGE MICHAEL has repeatedly toured European countries including Austria, Germany, France, Belgium, Holland, and Switzerland, among others. With a growing European following EDGE MICHAEL met and collaborated with Austrian based House of Riddim and they have begun creating amazing roots reggae music together. EDGE MICHAEL’S 2008 JAMZ Inc. label release, Cornucopia, is loaded with tracks that bring the conscious message of love and righteousness. Released on March 20th Cornucopia offers a marvelous collection of powerful and mesmerizing sounds which praise of Jah while spreading a call for truth and rights with a taste of love. Delilah (remix), the first single, is picking up steam as is EDGE MICHAEL’S reggae rendition of the Lionel Ritchie classic Deep River Woman. Additional strong tracks include: Same Faces, Help, Famine, Mr. Babylon, Lessons, Real Enemy, You and I, and You’ve Got My Love. Often compared to reggae greats: Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Beres Hammond, Freddie McGregor, Lucky Dube, Maxi Priest and current hit makers Taurus Riley and Alborosie, EDGE MICHAEL is destined to make a considerable mark on the music world. The man, the artiste and the writer are completely intertwined, presenting a natural and “down to earth” persona. EDGE MICHAEL enjoys all forms of music. Chinese is his favorite food. Leisure time is spent with his instruments, a good book or a great movie. He enjoys relaxing in jeans and cool shirts. To date EDGE MICHAEL has sold thousands of CD's and vinyl copies of his music, toured Mexico, Africa, Brazil, parts of Europe, the Caribbean and parts of the United States. With new music in moderate radio rotation, Edge Michael is ready. Are you?
