简介

"Metro Jungle," marks a slight diversion into the world of instrumental music for Ann-dee. The Chaotic Symphony accompanies her on her musical journey into composing with a city theme. This is the third album this year, following the Pop Alternative album, " Love Speak," and the more alternative rock electronic album, " The Fabrique," which came out in March 2014. The album was inspired by Ann-dee's city of Manhattan-New York, New York! "The city's hustle bustle and daily cacophony has always been fascinating," she said. "For most of my life, I've lived on Long Island, which is a half hour away to New York City by train-I've worked there, played tourist there, and I've got friends who live there." She said, "I see cities as special entities-and I think the magic is in every city all over the world. Every time I visit a new city as well-there's the spirit of embarking upon a new adventure! Every city has its own special flavor and culture, however there are commonalities to every city-the noise of traffic, the crowds, street vendors, and the music of street musicians playing various instruments!" "Cities are great fast-paced places that are extremely alive with everything you can imagine! That's what I was aiming to capture in my compositions." When asked about her compositions, Ann-dee mentioned that " looking at the 'Times Square Lights,' is awesome, especially when seeing it for the first time! And then the journey becomes even more interesting when walking or driving and crossing different areas, such as 'City Lines.' " " I thought about music that could exemplify the beat of the city. "Daydreaming Lunch Break," is about the worker who might be taking a quick lunch out of the office or it could be someone taking a short break for lunch while daydreaming about other things, while sitting right at a desk." She added, "The 'Chorus of Yawns,' is about the common complaints of some workers as overheard by another worker, and the beat of the song reflects that point of view. Are workers robots?" " 'Metro Jungle,' itself reflects a kind of jungle, with its instrumental sounds, though with a metropolitan beat. " 'Avatar Universe,' is more reflective of what could be a grace and beauty in the cyber world of computers for workers; there is an energy and a fascination as one becomes an avatar in a computer world. 'Sax In The City,' has the beat of the city in it, and 'Catwalk Sway,' was specifically created to honor one of the fashion capitals of the world, New York. It was with a model's runway-and a model's walk in mind, that the song's beat developed." " I loved composing these pieces, and my hope is that when people are listening to them, that the memory of a favorite city comes into their minds." The music was mastered by Fred Guarino at Tiki Recording Studios, Glen Cove, Long Island. Art by Maury Daly: "A View From Central Park."
