San Francisco Bay Area longtime musician Gary Lapow has been writing and performing his moving original songs for more than 40 years. An active participant in the Washington Square folk music scene of the early 60's, at the age of 16 Gary first recorded on Folkways Records in New York. During the Civil Rights Era Gary toured with the SNCC Freedom Singers in the 60's, performed and recorded with the Red Star singers in the 70's, was mentored by Malvina Reynolds, and has performed with Pete Seeger and Holly Near.
