简介
As a live performer, it seems I never play anywhere, no matter how far-flung, without someone coming up and remembering my dad, the itinerant folk-singer, knocking on their door in college and trying to sell them a record. For Dad's customers, those were little mystical encounters with a wind-blown lily-of-the-field. I was a tiny kid in the days when dad was doing that. And while I don't remember any of the meals purchased with the coins gathered from those outings, I do remember the songs--for us, they were the way Dad's feelings about God and family settled down into our souls. My own songs have mostly been a little higher-concept than those old songs of my dad's--built to be performed more appropriately by bands in auditoriums than by folk singers in living rooms. But over the years, I've written a pocketful of songs fashioned in the same mold as the songs I grew up on--written to be played in the living room--a way to communicate with Kris and the kids how I felt about God and family. Some of them have found their way out into the public—-a great pleasure for me. This little disc contains inspirational tunes that audiences have asked about, played by a handful of friends with whom I’ve shared stages and studios across the continent. I hope you enjoy it.
