Apexeral is a psychedelic mix of instrumental music full of drama, dynamism, and rich beats and textures with compelling melodies. The album starts with an electronic ride to the top with "Apexeral," moves into a smooth electro-acoustic groove with "Tesselating Drops." Next comes dubstep with "Rewind," and then some roots reggae with "Irie Monday." Things get Afro-Caribbean with "David Byrne's Big Suit." With "Lasting Hope," this song from 10 years ago gets an update with a didj-driven Neo-Celtic feel. And the groove keeps going all the way to the uplifting and positive symphonic conclusion of "Life." Many of these songs are also featured in Martin's new fractal art and music videos, which can be found at his website and Youtube. Instruments featured on this album, all of which are played by Martin, include: 6 and 12 string guitars, mandolin, keyboards, MIDI instruments and percussion, doumbek, djembe, talking drum, penny whistle, Native American flute, didjeridu, harmonica, and vocals.
