Filled with spectacular race scenes through some of the most treacherous courses on the East Coast of the United States, "The Potential Inside" is a powerfully moving and compelling drama that examines the heart and soul of a true champion. For the score, composer Jim Daneker created a handful of themes which cover the wide range of emotion portrayed in the film. The adrenaline-packed action sequences get a hybrid techno-orchestral treatment similar to what you'd hear on scores like The Dark Knight, The Bourne Ultimatum or The Matrix. The dramatic cues are mostly piano-driven, with lots of sweeping orchestral support not unlike James Newton Howard's work on films like The Village or Lady In The Water. The main race sequences are full of exhilaration, tension & triumph; these cues feature soaring themes comparable to John Williams' work for the Olympic Games and Hans Zimmer's Gladiator. This is definitely a score for fans of film music!
