简介

Steve Sullivan writes eclectic modern folk rock drawing on 1930’s blues, 1960’s folk and 1990’s alternative sensibilities. His lyrics are both introspective and abstract, while maintaining a strong sense of sincerity throughout. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the early 80’s, Sullivan grew up near the dried out banks of the Rio Grande River in a small railroad town called Belen. At age 12, he started playing guitar and writing songs. Studying with master guitarist Ricardo Griego, Sullivan began exploring the possibilities of music through a relentless songwriting process that sent him in his prolific direction. Through his teens, Sullivan began playing more and more instruments and is now a guitarist, drummer, pianist, harmonica player, bassist and a unique vocal talent. Inspired by the do-it-yourself attitude, Sullivan began building a home studio and started recording albums at age 16. Through much trial and error, Sullivan has become an accomplished producer and studio engineer. His efforts can be heard on his latest concept CD “Imaginary Friends”. Sullivan on his new album says, “I wrote the song Farewell to an Imaginary Friend and it really struck a chord with me... the sadness of children losing their imaginary friends, the whole record is really based on all aspects of that.”. (Sept. 2003) Steve Sullivan has also started his own record label Muddy Rain Records and will be busy in the next year promoting his new disc as well as working on new material.
