Scott R Jacobs, in the rap world is known as CHIEF. November 2001 CHIEF and his tribe, Strik9ine reached the pinnacle of their underground career by becoming the first independently signed Rap group to seize the number 1 position on any BILLBOARD chart and hold it captive for 7 WEEKS with the hot rap single “DANSIN-WIT-WOLVEZ.” Due to internal reasons the group was unable to remain with their then label FADE ent. After the pain staking task of severing all the ties linking them to the old “fam”, STRIK 9ine has decided that the best way back into the spotlight is on the back of their leader, CHIEF. Chief is a complex yet balanced mix of Street, Scholar and Soldier. Chief’s life experiences has not only helped him become a better SOLDIER but also to grow and become a leader who lives by a code of honor. SPC Jacobs has gained a greater understanding and appreciation of suffering and duty. By incorporating all aspects of his life into his craft he has become CHIEF, the bringer of a new era of music. His harsh yet melodic flow gained its texture in the streets and alleys of Cleveland, OH. It gained Depth in the classes and hallways of college and its passion as well as conviction on the back roads of Baghdad.
