"When I Was . . . The Mixtape : 2nz Edition" is a series of collective music recorded by Ian Tyler. In preparation for Ian's first full length studio project, "When I Was . . . The Mixtape : 2nz Edition" will give listeners an intimate understanding of Ian Tyler as a singer, songwriter, and recording artist while maintaining a recurrent theme throughout each volume. "When I Was . . . The Mixtape : 2nz Edition - Vol. 1" is about being infatuated and discovering love. Each song outlining the vibrant feelings that one feels for another they truly care about when first meeting them. "Superloverman" is Ian's account of an interesting conclusion to a great night out when he approaches a woman who unknowing to him has a boyfriend who isn't happy about her talking to another man. The Bobby Brown sample "Open the Door" continues Ian's relationship from "Superloverman" as he makes it known that he's ready to help as long as she lets him in. "Three Times a Lady" reiterates Ian's feelings for the one he desires as he outlines how bad her boyfriend is. Ian then opens his heart showing his sensitive side on "Permission" - a remix to Floetry's "Say Yes" initially produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. "You Make Me Feel Like" is a touching ballad in which Ian vividly portray's his emotions for the one he loves. The D.Roc produced "Frenzie" is the uptempo conclusion to "When I Was . . . Vol. 1" - a poppy song with catchy lyrics showing Ian's forthcoming side about the whirlwind of feelings he has for the one he desires. "When I Was . . . The Mixtape : 2nz Edition - Vol. 1" is only the beginning for Ian Tyler. Look out for Vol. 2 to be released early next year. Ian also plans to start releasing singles in January of 2010.
