A Controlled Burn Longacre formed as an outlet for a small group of Milwaukee musicians to play and make songs. Regular get-togethers, songwriting sessions and a few well-chosen opening act spots in Chicago and Milwaukee have led to a catalog of more than two dozen original songs. The core group is made up of Claire Chin (piano, organ & vocals), Michael De Boer (guitar & lap steel), Damian Strigens (guitar & drums), Jimmy McDonald (guitar) and Ken Hanson (bass guitar). The group also draws on a collective of amazingly talented local musicians. In October 2006 the band began recording at Butch Vig\'s legendary Smart Studios in Madison, WI with wunderkind Beau Sorenson working the knobs and playing a strong part in the production. In Fall of 2008 an EP will be released.
