"Somos Hoy," the opening song on the CD, quickly establishes the feeling that she has chosen to go back to the sounds and rhythems of one of her best selling CD's, Las Cosas Que Vives. The collection alternates between upbeat tracks like "Un Error de Los Grandes," with its driving guitar and pumping bass line, to several slower songs in the grand style, with slowly building finishes, including "Quiero Decirte" and the most emotional song of all, "Vivre." The one English language cut on the CD, "The Extra Mile," appears in the "Pokemon 2000" movie and is a traditional sentimental soundtrack song. But overall, this album is a must have for ardent fans of Laura Pausini as well as curious buyers who want to sample the international pop music scene. She co-wrote most of the lyrics on this album, which was produced in Hollywood with help from the London Chamber Orchestra on some songs. The sound quality of this CD is great with Pausini's voice coming through strong and clear.
