When an artist is finished with a CD project there is this silent space between the art and the world that lingers for a short period of time with the "unknown". I often wonder of how the listener will inhale the artful aroma, the experience. I am forever in amazement how one perceives a song I wrote or even that of another artists when they first hear it. Often one's taste for the song comes after they have lived with it, felt it when it becomes a part of the household, the walls. That space between is a good time to revel in one's own accomplishments and then once it is fired out into the universe it is for the taking, up for grabs emotionally. Walking with a project and living with it is a way of life, my way of life. When our songs become your way of life then we know we have written for the Kingdom, you. That is what we all wish for in our music along with knowing it was taken to the heart while stirring up emotions. I can only wish and hope to grab hearts in a way that they feel they have grasped something unusual, creative, and moving. Music has a way of taking us into good places, a place to listen to not only the music, but life itself. This Album, CD, Record, is one I did with utmost care and consideration for the listener. My producer, Derek Chafin, was radiant with melodic ideas from the guitar lick in "Breathless" to the sentimental musical tell all in "Without My Soul". The road I traveled to write this CD was one well traveled and one I have deep foot prints embedded into the ground with. From someone who has been through much of life's turns, just the idea of being able to expound lyrically and musically in the making of a song is cathartic and enriching all at the same time. I live to learn, and learn to build so that I can express what it is that can leave traces of something musically tangible for people to hear. With this CD I feel I do just that. Lyrics stream through "Don't Block The Sun", only to divulge the fact that, make no mistake, if your sun is blocked, you can not feel the warmth, or the life in which you want to live is not what you expected to be happy.

You can't pretend who you are, because someone has tried to change you. To be happy you must stay true to yourself. The search moves on in "Blinded", as I see what it is that I was blinded from. Eventually the truth comes out as it lives at the end of the lie. We understand, even though we were blinded by love and passion, we see truth in the end. I hope this CD truly finds its way into the light of peoples hearts. It might make a heart beat that extra beat, it may draw love in, or it may stir up emotions lost in translation. I hope it lights up someones room with warm instrumentals while lyrics speak truth, face to face. "Tell Me something beautiful, Tell Me something strange, Tell Me something black and white, my heart won't rearrange. Give me something sweeter I haven't tasted yet, Tell Me, I won't forget". Please let me know how my CD captivated you after you have lived with it for awhile as a song is a short story, and a CD is a lyrical book, a piece of art that one has to become friends with, know and feel.
