简介

All these songs mean so much to me from the bottom of my heart and I am so blessed to be able to share these with you. I’d just like to say that if I were to give a subtitle to this album it would be “Stories of a Storyteller” cause every song on here tells a different story, which is where I get my own inspiration from. The first track was taken from one of the most heartwarming movies ever made, “August Rush.” The song tells the story of a man singing about the woman he’s in love with; ever since they’ve parted his life seems bleak, dim and routine. He looks to music to give him joy in life, but it can’t fill the emptiness of the love he’d lost. The first original was a true story that did happen to me about a year ago. Me and my girl had been dating for a few months but I wasn’t sure if it was really working out. Basically, I was convinced that I was better off on my own. This song just goes to show no matter how sure you are of something, you are always better off not alone - we all need a shadow to walk with. This song probably has the saddest motive you’ve ever heard. My girlfriend of well over a year found out that her grandfather was dying of terminal bone cancer and there was nothing that could be done for him. Night after night for hours I’d try to comfort her over the phone only to realize there was really nothing I could do. So I wrote a song for her telling her to look on the bright side of the bigger picture; to turn away from the pain and look towards the light. After he died, (God, forever rest his soul), the guitar was tuned down almost as if to symbolize it was being played at half mast. The first time a played it for her, she burst into tears, and that was the very first time she said, “I love you.” The David Bowie classic, “Ziggy Stardust,” is performed without all the guitar fills, drums and distortion, so you can listen to the lyrics and see how corrupt this poor man really was. It just shows you how far some will go for their music, and guard it with their lives. “If Tomorrow Never Comes,” by Garth Brooks has a very simple message - let the people you love know how you feel because one day you might go to tell them and for one reason or another, it might be too late. “Resistance” is a very hard song to decipher. Much different than the version that can be heard on the radio, this ballad version of the song shows that love can conquer anything if you believe. The song starts to build and build to a point where love isn’t enough anymore and they (the characters within the song) have to run away for what they believe in. The unconventional ending to the song suggests that something went wrong along the line, like it was all just cut short. The beauty of the song is that it makes you think about what really happened to those who believed. The song almost dares you to find out for yourself how powerful true love can really become.
