简介
Milkman Daddy is a band from the Kansas City, Missouri area that blends all of their influences into a cohesive, flowing mix of sounds. Inspired by rock, folk, blues, alt country, and pop, the band borrows from all these genres to create what's really important ... great songs. With influences ranging from the Beatles, Hank Williams, the Band, Tom Petty, the Rolling Stones, Elvis Costello, to more recent artists like Wilco and Ryan Adams, Milkman Daddy takes a wide range of inspiration and puts the focus on the songwriting. This album is as cohesive as a gathering on the back porch while still employing a diverse amount of instruments from acoustic and electric guitars, wooden box drums, banjo, piano, ukelele, dobro, cigar box guitar, and harmonica. Featuring the guitar, piano, bass, and harmony vocals of Kenny Marshall. With harmony vocals and percussion by Pat Higbee. Lead guitar and recording engineer Andy Oxman of Soundworks Studios in Blue Springs, Missouri. Songwriting , lead vocals, rhythm guitar, and piano by Tim Covey. Also featuring guest lead guitar by Walt Chambers on "Kansas City Gives Me The Blues" and guest harmony vocals by J. Love on "Sorrow Of You" and "Reckless Abandon". Milkman Daddy has put together a great collection of songs that form a narrative like a movie playing in your head. The way it should be. http://leicesterbangs.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/review-milkman-daddy-leave-it-on-porch.html
