简介
Christina Roberts is a singer / songwriter / guitar strummer / wanna-be piano pounder. A Houston native, Roberts has written songs since childhood, but only recently left a career in Washington, D.C. to give music its fair focus. "Washington is to me what Paris was to Hemingway, a moveable feast that I'll carry with me and enjoy for the rest of my life." In February, 2006, Roberts released her full-length record, Our Secret Is Good. Lifted by contributions from Austin greats David Miller (Asleep At The Wheel), Scrappy Jud Newcomb (The Resentments) and Brian Standefer (Alejandro Escovedo), Our Secret Is Good confidently takes the listener's hand and holds it snug from start to finish. Our Secret Is Good begins inside the groove of "The Magic Holds," hits full throttle with "Man Of No Promises," and quiets down with the title track, Roberts's statement on the worthy work of keeping up inconvenient, irreplaceable, lifelong friendships. Roberts goes on to explore the deep end of her register on "Where The Garden Grows From" and "Mortal Appeal," and later takes on the piano for "Pink With Pearls." All the while, Roberts directs her music with the conviction of Five For Fighting's John Ondrasik and the tenderness of David Mead. Of the ten tracks on the record, three were taken from a collection written while living and working in Washington. The remaining seven are the fruits of a songwriting hiatus she took last spring in Houston. Christina Roberts currently writes and performs in and around Austin, Texas.
