简介

"May Your Bread Always Land Jamside Up!" The band's message to the world...and one appreciated by their number one fan - Bob Marley's former girlfriend, and iconic photographer Esther Anderson. It all began with the blues, and the British boom which spawned guitarists like Eric Clapton and Peter Green, and those who inspired them - especially Freddie King. Oh, And Jimi of course. Every schoolkid with a guitar wanted to emulate them. Tim Hain, the visionary behind the band, was no exception. In The mid 80's he was hired to play lead guitar for visiting reggae artists. Those beautiful basslines and simple militant riddims stuck. Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, Peter Tosh, Black Uhuru, Roots Radics, Sly And Robbie etc...their irresistable grooves and conscious lyrics took hold and wouldn't let go. Reggae with A blues twist. A perfect marriage. From such associations a band was born. Unusually for a reggae based outfit, the blues inspired "power trio" works very well for many shows..augmented for bigger shows with keyboards and backing vocalists. Drummer Noel Tapper has backed a "who's who" Of reggae artists, including Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Mikal Rose, The Mighty Diamonds, and Sugar Minott... 1200 gigs later, Jamside Up are much loved by the crowds they play to. The songs on this album were written to fit this simple but expressive format.. Esther Anderson says "Tim Hain is a very, very good musician. writes good songs...a natural." Track 2 of this collection, "Cry For Love," is featured on the soundtrack of her documentary, "Bob Marley - The Making Of A Legend." Other Fans include the the Right Rev. Nick Baines, Bishop of Bradford - " Tim is a damn good guitarist." legendary race driver Sir Stirling Moss, record producer Pip Williams ( Elton John, Moody Blues, Status Quo) and founder Rolling Stone Bill Wyman: "Excellent. Best I've heard for some time."
