Each one of these songs has elements of 12 tone and serialism. When I was an undergrad music student, one of my teachers Proffesor Thomas Stumpf gave us the assignment to develop a piece of music using a 12 tone row. One particular row that I developed for that assignment stuck and became the basis for this album. Throughout my compositions, I found myself coming back to this tone row until I had enough variations to seriously consider putting together a compilation. This album “Compositions” is the result of 13 variations off a single theme.
