Named after a 1950s composer, The Stanley Blacks are an emergent young band from Surrey, whose string of guitar-driven, infectious pop songs have forged a strong local following and secured profile gigs up and down the country and internationally. No strangers to the London area club scene, the band won over the jaded L.A. music scene and played to SRO crowds at iconic Hollywood clubs such as The Whiskey A Go-Go, Bardot Hollywood, The Dakota Lounge and Molly Malone's. Stronghold in Venice Beach and The Viper Room were so impressed that they booked the band for multiple dates. The industrious inventiveness of the rhythm section (Matt Emberson on drums and James Turnbull on bass), the lucid riffs of guitarist Jon Marshall and the sense of melody from singer/songwriter Ashley Reed forge the idiosyncrasies in the Stanley Blacks’ sound, fusing the energy of late 70’s rock with the sensibilities 60’s pop.
