Vinny and Ray performs hardcore Afro-Cuban, salsa, timba, cha cha’s and latin jazz. Vinny and Ray is one of the hottest latin band in Connecticut. Their CD is being sold throughout the US as well as Europe. They are highly known in New York and Connecticut. They performed with Tito Puente, Jose Alberto, Ray Barretto and grupo Fasinacion, etc. In 2004 they won an Independent award for best original latin song titled “Rumba en el Barrio”. In 2006 Vinny and Ray won an achievement award in Hartford, CT along with Eddie Palmieri and Jose Feliciano. In the early 90’s they were known as Orquesta Presion performing all through New York boroughs. They also performed in Boston, Virginia, Washington D.C. and Connecticut. Today they are known as Vinny and Ray. They have incredible talent; Vinny sings, plays trumpet, flute and percussion. Ray plays timbales, congas and bongos. Vinny and Ray (Afro-cuban latin Jazz) consist of 8 members. In 2004 Vinny and Ray released their first CD under Ardel Records label titled “Only the Beginning”. The CD includes salsa, merengue, mambo, instrumental ballads; some of the songs are “Historia De Un Amor”, “Mama Guela”, “En Mi Viejo San Juan”, “Hello”, “What You Won’t Do For Love”. In 2009 WWE released volume 10 recording Featuring Vinny and Ray “Oh Puerto Rico”. In 2010 WWE featured Vinny and Ray Original song ”Rumba en el barrio” in a motion picture titled Knuckle Head. In 2014 Vinny and Ray are featured in another Theme song for wrestler “Fandango” song title ”Pena Flamenca”. They have also been Nominated by the New England Salsa music Awards for best song, best latin jazz band and best new artist.
