Kim Byeong-ho (1910~1968), a disciple of Kim Chang-jo (1856~1919), the founder of Sanjo, created his own school of Sanjo by combining his style of rhythms and melodies with the Sanjo built by his teacher. The full version of Kim Byeong-ho's Sanjo is 40 minutes long. It consists of Jinyang-Jungmori-Jungjungmori-Eotmori-Jajinmori-Hwimori-Danmori. His Sanjo characteristics can be described as being dispassionate and rational yet deep Nonghyeons(vibratos) give texture to his mild tones. Park Da-Som studied the recordings of Kim Byeong-ho with the support of Yun Seo-Kyung from The National Gugak Center's Folk Orchestra. As a result, Park Da-Som focused on setting the pitch of Nonghyeons of Ujo, Gyeongjo and Gangsanje to two semitones in order to clearly differentiate the character between the modes. Sanjo performed by Park Da-Som in this recording was performed entirely in one take to capture the natural flow of music as well as the tension of a live performance.
